1. Who operates Litmous AI
Litmous AI is operated by SYMBIOGENESIS PRIVATE LIMITED ("Symbiogenesis", "we", "us" or "our").
Our registered office is: Plot No. C58/6, 406, Gaurav Adhikari Sahkari, Noida Sector 62, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar - 201309, Uttar Pradesh, India.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Litmous AI website, download services, Litmous software and related online services that refer to this Policy.
2. Our privacy approach
Litmous is designed so that intelligence and knowledge processing can occur on the user's device. Use of material locally by Litmous does not, by itself, mean that the material is transmitted to us.
We seek to collect only information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain and improve Litmous. Optional reporting categories are separated from essential service communications and are subject to the controls described in the Data & Telemetry Notice.
3. Information we may process
Website and download information
When you access our website or download a release, we may process technical request information such as the release requested, time of request, browser or user-agent information, referring page, request identifiers and security-related connection information.
For application-level download accounting, Litmous does not retain the raw IP address in the download record. Instead, an HMAC-derived value may be retained for security and approximate duplicate analysis. Hosting, network or security providers may independently process connection logs as part of normal infrastructure operation.
Installation information
A Litmous installation may register a randomly generated installation UUID, platform, architecture, operating system version, Litmous application version, Core version, component versions, first-contact time and last-contact time.
We do not require a hardware serial number, MAC address or similar hardware fingerprint as the Litmous installation identifier.
Optional diagnostics and analytics
Where enabled and authorised, Litmous may transmit diagnostic information such as health status, CPU usage, memory usage, available storage and error information, or product-usage analytics described in the Data & Telemetry Notice.
Optional conversation reporting
If you expressly enable conversation reporting, Litmous may transmit information including a user query, Litmous response, outcome status, whether retained knowledge was used, limited knowledge/provenance references, component versions and performance information.
Conversation reporting is separate from ordinary installation registration. The latest applicable conversation-reporting consent must be granted before such a report is accepted.
Feedback
If you voluntarily provide feedback, we may process the feedback and information you choose to include with it.
4. Why we process information
Depending on the information and the law applicable to you, we process information for purposes including:
- providing software downloads and release delivery;
- registering and recognising a Litmous installation;
- maintaining compatibility and version information;
- protecting the website, APIs and software from misuse, fraud and security threats;
- providing diagnostics where authorised;
- understanding product operation and improving Litmous where analytics are authorised;
- receiving conversation reports where expressly enabled;
- responding to feedback or requests;
- complying with legal obligations and resolving disputes.
We process personal data only where a lawful basis is available under applicable law. Depending on jurisdiction, this may include consent, performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, permitted legitimate interests, or another lawful basis recognised by the applicable law.
5. Consent and optional reporting
Litmous maintains separate consent scopes for:
- diagnostics;
- product analytics;
- conversation reporting; and
- feedback.
A consent decision is recorded with its scope, status, policy version, source and time. A later withdrawal does not rewrite the historical consent record; it becomes the new controlling decision for future optional processing.
Withdrawal of an optional consent does not affect processing already lawfully carried out before withdrawal or information we are required to retain by law.
6. Source documents and local knowledge
Where conversation reporting is enabled, a report may include limited identifiers or provenance references describing knowledge used for a response. Applications should not include the original source contents in that field unless a separate product feature clearly informs the user and provides the required control.
7. Disclosure and service providers
We may use infrastructure, hosting, security, email, storage, professional and other service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Litmous. Such providers may process information on our behalf subject to appropriate contractual or legal requirements.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, lawful governmental request, to protect rights or security, or in connection with a legitimate corporate restructuring or transaction subject to applicable safeguards.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use conversation content for third-party behavioural advertising.
8. International processing
Litmous may be made available internationally. Information may therefore be processed in countries other than the country in which a user is located where our service providers or infrastructure operate.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we will use an available lawful transfer mechanism and apply appropriate protections.
9. Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including product operation, security, consent accountability, dispute resolution and legal compliance.
Retention may differ by category. For example, a current installation record may be retained while the installation remains active, while historical consent records may need to be retained to demonstrate the consent status under which optional processing occurred.
We may delete, aggregate or anonymise information when the relevant operational or legal need ends.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure.
Installation authentication credentials are randomly generated. The server retains a cryptographic hash of the client credential rather than the usable credential itself.
No system can provide absolute security, and users remain responsible for protecting their devices, local Litmous data and credentials.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live and the law applicable to your information, you may have rights to request access, correction, completion, deletion, information about processing, withdrawal of consent, grievance handling, data portability where applicable, or other statutory rights.
You may also have the right to complain to the competent data-protection authority or other regulator.
Requests may be sent to: noreply@litmous.com. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
12. Children
Litmous is not intended to be independently used by a child where applicable law requires parental or guardian authorisation for the relevant processing. We do not knowingly seek personal data from children contrary to applicable law.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when Litmous, our data practices or applicable law changes. A new version will identify its effective date and policy version. Where a change requires renewed consent, Litmous will require the appropriate consent before the affected optional processing continues.
